My name is Tom and I am a struggling EMT.
Hi Tom!
My story is simple, probably like many people here in America. The tax man has got me down. Last year I struggled for much of the year dealing with a divorce and paying my normal living bills. I had to commute about 90 miles every day just to work at a $11 per hour job. That barely cut the mustard, and to top things off not enough was taken out of my checks throughout the year to cover the tax man. I will end up owing about $1500 to Uncle Sam come April 15th. I am no longer making $11 per hour, but have fallen to $10. I can't even muster any serious overtime to cover this bill and am now in a serious pinch.
Any help would be more than greatly appreciated. EMT's have a hard enough time making it through life paying bills with the meager pay we get, so we cannot even really save money for school to improve our lot in life. I am trying to enter school in the summer in Dallas, Texas so that I can work on becoming a Physical Therapist. This tax bill will likely make that impossible.
Again, any help would be more than greatly appreciated.
